May I send you my demo tape?
You can send me whatever you want so long as it isn't going to blow up or
leave a foul smell in my living room. But will I put it out? Well, probably not, unless you're a friend or unless your music just knocks me out. No hard feelings, but if I'm going to spend time burning CD-R's, I have to love it or love you. Certainly, nice handwritten (or manual-typewritten!) notes help.
Here is a handy checklist for those seeking Tape Mountain release:
- I am undemanding about the presentation of my precious music.
- I do not care if my precious CD-R ever sells more than three copies.
- I don't mind "slumming it" with the likes of Celesteville.
- I enjoy the sound of meadowlarks.
- I do not shit out another useless "noise" album every 48 hours.
- I will not pester Jake about the status of my music.
- My music is not shiny.
- I have no interest whatsoever in my music being heard on "durable"
or "respectable" formats.
- I am pleasant and have an easygoing nature.
- I do not, nor will I ever, realize that it is probably smarter and
more lucrative to release this work myself.
